MUSCAT: Barr Al Jissah recently hosted the Hapag-Lloyd Europa 2 cruise ship at its private marina. This was the first time in Muscat maritime history that a cruise ship was hosted somewhere other than Port Sultan Qaboos, reaffirming Barr Al Jissah’s emergence as a boating destination at the gateway to Oman.
Having been named the world’s number one cruise ship, the Europa 2 offers the very best of contemporary, modern design concept offering the ultimate in luxury with the greatest space per passenger and one of the largest collections of art at sea. Barr Al Jissah Marina is Muscat’s most private luxury marina, and Qantab bay – located just outside the marina – provided the perfect setting for the 225m cruise liner to moor. Around 300 guests from the cruise liner were shuttled to the marina by tender boats for an exclusive event at Shangri-La Resort and Spa’s Turtle Beach.
